The Covenant of the Skullz (also
known as the Skullz), perform long-form improv regularly at the iO West Main
Stage in Hollywood, CA and the Westside Eclectic in Santa Monica, CA. The
seven iO West alumni that make up the Skullz strive to create fast-paced,
smart, original shows focused on solid relationships and in-depth
characters. The Skullz commit to having fun on stage, which insures a good
time for their audience, keeping the masses coming back week after week. |

The Skullz began in August of
2006 by performing a
very unique and seasonal long form structure, named "The Haunted House of
Improvised Horror.” In this show, five young men entered an improvised
haunted house, and only one, if any, made it out alive. During their four
week run which capped off with an epic Halloween performance, the audience
demanded more.

The
Skullz added two lady members, tweaked the format, and “Singles Bar” was
born. Singles Bar debuted on Valentine’s Day of 2007. The show allowed the
improvisers to show a different style of their improv repertoire as seven
young adults entered an improvised bar (prompted by the audience’s
suggestion) looking for love. |

Since
then, ‘Singles Bar’ has been a mainstay on the iO West Mainstage, with the
exception of yet another smashing success of ‘Haunted House’ performances in
October of ’07. During these performances the Skullz tweaked the format a
bit more, giving the iO West a taste of the dramatic.
The Skullz further branched out
to the Westside Eclectic in the beginning of 2008. Singles Bar has
curently begun their tour
of Improv Festivals starting with the Seattle Festival of Improvised
Theatre (SFIT) in 2/08. Could the Skullz be coming to your town?
Keep checking back here to see if the Skullz will be performing at a
Festival near you.
What does the future hold for
the Skullz? They plan to expand their comedy styles and venture into
other modes of funny. Keep updated on recent projects by joining the
Skullz mailing list on the Contact Us page.
